"Any Mummers 'loud in?"

On a cold December night as the wind bit through the harbour, sounds of laughter and song could be heard. Voices rang out under scarves and head coverings as a small group of interestingly clad townsfolk knocked on doors asking, “Any Mummers ’loud in?” Inside warm kitchens full of music and dancing, friendly faces were revealed with groans and cheers by the time the last drop of cheer was poured.
